From Jeju City

If you’re coming from Jeju City, it’s about an hour drive. Since Google Maps doesn’t work well in South Korea, download Kakao Maps or Naver Maps, both of which offer English-language support and accurate navigation.

If you want to catch the bus from Jeju City, you’ll need to go via Seogwipo.

• Jeju Island Buses operates services from Jeju City Hall to Seogwipo Transit Station approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 1 hour, with fares ranging from ₩2,100 to ₩3,000.
• You can pay with cash (don’t expect change) or purchase a TMoney card (from a GS25, CU or 7-Eleven) and tap and go.

From Seogwipo

To get to the Seogwipo Natural Recreation Forest by bus you’ll need to take a few different buses. Hiring a car is definitely the easier option, or arranging a taxi.

1. Seogwipo Transit Station to Jungmun Transit Station:
   • Bus: Take the line 181 bus from Seogwipo Transit Station to Jungmun Transit Station.
   • Duration: Approximately 30 minutes.
2. Jungmun Transit Station to Jungmun Community Service Center:
   • Bus: Transfer to a local bus heading to the Jungmun Community Service Center.
   • Duration: Approximately 10 minutes.
3. Jungmun Community Service Center to Seogwipo Natural Recreation Forest:
   • Bus: From the Jungmun Community Service Center, take a bus directly to Seogwipo Natural Recreation Forest.
   • Duration: Approximately 40 minutes.

Total Travel Time: Around 1 hour and 20 minutes, including transfers.

Bus Fare: The combined fare for the journey is between ₩3,300 and ₩5,500.

• Language Considerations: While many transportation signs and apps offer English translations, having basic Korean phrases or a translation app can be helpful, especially when asking for directions or clarifications.

Trail Information & Accessibility

Seogwipo National Recreational Forest offers a number of different trails that vary in length and difficulty. Some walks can take a few hours, but if you’re travelling with children or prefer a shorter experience, you can choose shorter loop trails that still provide incredible views of Jeju Island in autumn.

Seogwipo Natural Forest – Entry Fees & Parking

If you’re travelling by car, you will also have to pay for parking (around $2.50 USD). Spaces can be limited, so try to time your visit to avoid busy periods.
