Jeju Island, South Korea’s natural wonder, is an amazing place to visit for families. With its unique volcanic landscapes, stunning white sand beaches, and lots of fun (and quirky!) attractions, Jeju has something for everyone.
If you’re travelling with kids, here are my top 10 things to do on Jeju Island to keep them entertained while enjoying the natural beauty of this stunning island.
1. Visit Hallasan National Park
If you’re visiting Jeju Island Korea, you can’t miss Hallasan! (You literally can’t miss it to be honest, as you can’t see it from nearly everywhere on the island!). It’s South Korea’s highest mountain.
While a full hike over the mountain is probably a little too challenging with little ones (but do-able for bigger kids if they’re hiking fans) there are shorter Jeju hiking trails to consider. For example, Eoseungsaengak Trail is an easy hike that offers scenic views and a chance to see Jeju’s unique flora and fauna.
- Location: Hallasan National Park
- Admission: Free
- How to Get There: Take a bus from Jeju City to Seongpanak or Eorimok trail entrances.
- Alternative: Consider jumping on an organised Hallasan tour if you’re short on time.
2. Explore the Teddy Bear Museum
One thing Jeju isn’t short on is random museums! And the Teddy Bear Museum in Jungmun is perfect if you’ve got little kids. The museum features teddy bears dressed as historical figures, famous artworks, and even K-pop idols (of course!). Kids will love the interactive exhibits and adorable bear-themed souvenirs.
- Location: 31 Jungmungwangwang-ro110beon-gil, Seogwipo
- Admission: 10,000 KRW (adults), 9,000 KRW (children)
- How to Get There: Take bus 600 from Jeju Airport to Jungmun Tourist Complex.

3. Play at Jeju Island Maze Park
Jeju Maze Park is a fantastic way for your kids to burn off some energy! The large hedge maze provides an exciting challenge, and the observation tower at the end offers a fun reward. It’s a great mix of adventure and outdoor fun. Just keep your wits about you – particularly if it’s a hot day – so you don’t get lost (like we did!).
- Location: 122, Manjanggul-gil, Gujwa-eup, Jeju
- Admission: 4,400 KRW (adults), 3,300 KRW (children)
- How to Get There: Take bus 710-1 to Manjanggul Cave stop.
- More Info: Jeju Maze Park
4. Discover Aqua Planet Jeju Island
Aqua Planet Jeju is one of Asia’s largest aquariums and a favourite for many families visiting Jeju Island. Your kids will love the massive tanks filled with sharks, rays, and tropical fish. The underwater tunnel, penguin exhibit, and fun dolphin show are also popular!

5. Have Fun at Shinhwa Theme Park
For thrill-seeking families, Shinhwa Theme Park is a great option! There are roller coasters to explore and themed attractions based on Korean animations. There is lots on offer for a wide variety of ages to suit younger kids to older teens. If you’re visiting during summer there is also a separate water park to stay cool – just note entry is separate and requires its own ticket.

6. Visit the Manjanggul Lava Tube
A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Manjanggul Lava Tube is an amazing experience! You and your kids can walk through the underground lava tunnels – which feels like an exploration into another world. Keep an eye out for the lava stalactites and remember to pack a jacket as it can get a little chilly underground (and wet!).
- Location: 182 Manjanggul-gil, Gujwa-eup, Jeju
- Admission: 4,000 KRW (adults), 2,000 KRW (children)
- How to Get There: Take bus 101 to Manjanggul Cave stop.

7. Relax at Hamdeok Beach
For a more laid-back day hit one of South Korea’s best beaches! Hamdeok Beach or Hyopjae Beach are both great options. Both beaches offer shallow, calm waters that are perfect for young kids to splash around. And the white white sand makes it a beautiful place to relax. There are cafes and picnic spots are both beaches to make it an easygoing family destination. If travelling at the height of summer just be aware of over zealous lifeguards who like to blow their whistles at you if you’re venturing out past knee deep water! Go early to avoid the crowds – which get particularly busy close to sunset.

8. Experience Jeju Island’s Horse Riding Culture
Jeju has a rich horse-riding history, and several farms offer horseback riding experiences for kids. Jeju Horse Park provides short, guided rides that are safe for young children, allowing them to enjoy a fun and cultural experience.
There are also plenty of random horse riding opportunities throughout the island – often at outdoor cafes or along some of the most popular Jeju Olle routes (like Olle 10). Or at the Songdang Horseriding Centre.
- Location: 75 Sineom-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju
- Admission: From 15,000 KRW per ride
- How to Get There: Take bus 202 from Jeju City.

9. Explore the Alive Museum
For an interactive and hilarious experience, visit the Alive Museum. This museum features 3D optical illusions and trick art exhibits. Kids will have a blast posing for photos that make them look like they’re flying, climbing buildings, or being eaten by dinosaurs.
